Dolphins

We saw dolphins. Awesoooooooome.

After breakfast we grabbed our e-readers and sat on the back deck. There was something in the water, but we couldn't work out what it was. I returned to the cabin for our binoculars, but whatever it was was too far away to clearly identify. We thought they were pods of dolphins, but couldn't be sure.

Ten minutes later the First Officer announced there were dolphins off the bow. We went to the rail, and spotted several pods drifting past the port side. Several highly active pods, with dolphins breaching the surface like they were auditioning for Sea World. They were so close to the ship we didn't need the binoculars.

I haven't seen a show like this in the wild since we were in port  Miami on our Panama Canal tour.

Otherwise very much a do-nothing day. Read, eat, drink cocktails, nap.

After dinner we watched Red 2,  the "Movie Under the Stars" outside on the top deck. We bought a bottle of Robert Mondave Cabernet Sauvignon, a few bags of popcorn for snacks, and a rug to keep the wind out.

During the film Mario received a call on his mobile. His Uncle Zvonko figured we'd be near Korcula, and it might be a good time to ring. He was right. Given our ongoing problems getting mobiles to work in various countries it figures they work perfectly when we're supposed to be off the grid.

We still haven't seen a production show. Maybe tomorrow night after we tour Dubrovnik.

  1. Brian, you drive like Bill!! In Dublin Bill drove in circles so long I told him I would jump out of the car if I saw that same corner pub one more time! He turned right, found a different pub and we relaxed a bit. Then, back to our B&B! Never did see Dublin. That means we have to go back! ;)
